France OVERVIEW 
World Champions in 1998 and European Champions in 2000, France had a disasterous World Cup 2002 campaign. They were knocked out at the first round after failing to win a game and indeed score a goal. The 1998 success was the first and only World Cup truimph for the team who are one of only two to have competed in every single World Cup Qualification (17 in total). France will hope that no such repeat of Japan/Korea is evident and with the lethal strikeforce of Thierry Henry and David Trezeguet in great form, you can bet on France making a much heavier impact than they did in the last FIFA World Cup.
